Merry Christmas!

I say Merry Christmas and I always will. I do not wish people Seasons Greetings, Happy Holidays or Happy Winter Solstice, I wish them a Merry Christmas. Say those other generic greetings for some other event. In the USA it’s the Christmas season not the holiday season or winter solstice. Only the atheists, those that want to be politically correct and people that are against anything religious would be offended by people saying Merry Christmas.

Christmas has been celebrated in the United States from the country’s beginning, before when it was under British rule and it always will be in the future. Why should it change now? Because it offends you? No one cares, crawl back under the rock you were hiding and get a thicker skin if saying Merry Christmas makes you cringe. You are the problem with this country because too many times to cater to the lunacy of a few everyone else has to suffer. No more, people have to say enough, stand up and push back against this politically correct nonsense. I said Merry Christmas to a Post Office clerk once and she replied, “thank you that is so nice to hear.” I told her that some get offended by it but I was too old to care and I still feel that way today.

Wishing someone a Merry Christmas is actually inclusive. Years ago people actually were delighted to receive a Merry Christmas greeting directed at them because it meant that they had melted into to society and were part of the country. When you wish someone a Merry Christmas you are including them in the joy of the Christmas season. Just as I am never offended when someone wishes me a Happy Hanukkah. I feel the warmth of the nice gesture that they included me in their celebration. What’s wrong with that, absolutely nothing.

Companies and organizations found out that customers and donors wanted them to say Merry Christmas. I don’t think the Salvation Army ever recovered from their stupidity years ago of not allowing the bell ringers to say Merry Christmas. Large stores received a lot of backlash for not saying Merry Christmas to customers even though they put the Christmas decorations out for sale in October. And that is the problem, it’s all about money. Companies actually don’t care of what the season is about, all they care about are the profits. They had no problem raking in profits from their Christmas merchandise but they had a problem of wishing their customers a Merry Christmas, the same customer that put profits in their pockets. I try not to shop at any of those stores that stopped wishing people a Merry Christmas and I no longer give to the Salvation Army because the are more concerned about being politically correct instead of keeping their focus on helping people in need. A once great organization that destroyed itself to pander to the few that were upset instead of standing by the principles that supported the charity.

The Christmas season is not about money or gifts like big business tells you. Yes, Christmas is a religious holiday and that is not a problem because the United States of America is a religious country at heart. It doesn’t show anymore because of all the nonsense that is put forth by the government, mainstream media, social media and big tech. Christmas in its simplest form celebrates the miracle birth of Jesus. As some people say, “that’s the reason for the season” or as others say, “put Christ back into Christmas.” It’s not about sales, gifts or any other cause, it’s about the birth of Jesus, the Christ child. If that offends you I really don’t care, you need to toughen up and move along with life, or maybe actually get a life. There are too many other things happening in this country that relate directly to our survival and I can care less about anyone that is offended by a religious greeting. Unfortunately you can not argue with a person that has swallowed the politically correct vomit. Thomas Aquinas said it best, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” So to end I like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and that includes the people that are offended.
